September Food Drive for Love INC.
Throughout the entire month of September, the Canyon County Historical Society is collecting food donations for Love INC. at both of our museums.
Visitors are invited to bring nonperishable food items with them when they stop by the Nampa Train Depot Museum or the Our Memories Indian Creek Museum and help us support neighbors in our community.
History is about more than preserving the stories of the past. It is also about caring for the community we are part of today.

Vintage Rolltop Desk Silent Auction
This beautiful vintage rolltop desk is ready for a new home. With its classic rolltop design, spacious writing surface, built-in cubbies, upper storage drawers, and generous lower drawer space, it is both a distinctive piece of furniture and a wonderfully functional desk.
The desk is currently on display at the Nampa Train Depot and may be viewed during regular museum hours. The winning bidder can arrange pickup in time for Christmas, making this a memorable gift for someone who appreciates vintage furniture, craftsmanship, and pieces with character.
Best of all, proceeds from the auction support the Canyon County Historical Society and its work to keep our local history alive for generations to come.
Become a 2026 Festival of Wreaths Tradition Keeper
This Christmas, we’re inviting families, individuals, businesses, churches, schools, organizations, and community groups to help fill the historic Nampa Train Depot with the traditions and stories that make Canyon County special.
Decorate a wreath inspired by a favorite Christmas tradition, memory, or story and become an official 2026 Festival of Wreaths Tradition Keeper.
There are two ways to participate:
Community Tradition Keepers
Individuals and families can share a personal or family Christmas tradition. Your wreath will be displayed with a Tradition Story Card featuring your name or family name and the story behind your tradition.
Business Tradition Keepers
Businesses, organizations, churches, schools, and community groups can share a tradition that represents their organization or community. Your wreath will include a Tradition Keeper Recognition Card featuring your organization name, logo, and recognition information, along with recognition through Canyon County Historical Society social media.
All Tradition Keepers receive:
Display of your wreath during the Festival of Wreaths
Inclusion in the Festival’s online gallery
The opportunity for visitors to “Adopt a Tradition”
Eligibility for Festival Recognition Awards
One official 2026 Tradition Keeper collectible sticker

Festival of Wreaths public viewing begins.

Tradition Adoption and public voting close following the Nampa Christmas Tree Lighting.
Adopted wreaths may be picked up by their new Tradition Keepers during the following week. Additional delivery and pickup information will be emailed to registered participants.
Every wreath tells a story. Every tradition carries a piece of our community forward.

All Aboard for a Magical Christmas at the Nampa Train Depot
This Christmas, pajamas are encouraged and a little holiday magic is coming to the historic Nampa Train Depot.
Join the Canyon County Historical Society for a special Polar Express Christmas experience designed for families to enjoy together inside one of Canyon County’s most beloved historic landmarks.
Your evening will include:
A showing of The Polar Express
Hot cocoa and Christmas cookies
A visit with Santa in the historic caboose
A special keepsake bell to take home
Admission to explore the Nampa Train Depot Museum
Plenty of Christmas atmosphere, memory-making, and holiday fun
Come in your favorite Christmas pajamas, bring the family, and settle in for an evening inspired by the wonder of believing.
And when you hear that little bell ring, there will be only one question:
